Our Setting

Our setting is based in Summerheath Hall in Hailsham. As this is a community hall used by other groups, we set up and pack away every day. Our inside area includes toys, mark making, role play and active play equipment.

We have an extensive outside learning area which we use every day.

A typical session will include time for free play and planned activities which are linked to children’s interests and favourite books, such as “Life Cycle of a Butterfly”, “The Hungry Caterpillar” and “The Gruffalo”.  Activities can include anything from drawing and painting, water play or taking photos with digital cameras. We encourage visits from professional people within the local community and from parents with different cultural backgrounds to broaden the children’s experience.

Fresh fruit and healthy snacks are offered mid-morning (and afternoons on Tuesday to Friday) during rolling snack times which enable the children to join the snack group at a suitable break in their play. Children are able to stay for lunch every day.
